Who Am I?

I am a videographer with over 15 years of experience in documenting the most joyous and saddest days of people's lives. I tell their story through my lens. Through video, I transport the viewer into the homes, offices, sporting events and crime scenes that I call a day's work.

I have a passion for videography. I am a Regional Emmy Award Winner. I have adapted and thrived in a news business that changes on a daily basis.

I would love to discuss how I can bring my skill-set to your company.  You may contact me anytime at repper78@gmail.com or 919-201-3828.

Downtown Wayfinding

This story won the Regional Emmy (First Place, 24 Hour Deadline). I believe this was a different way to tell what could have been a visually boring story. The whip pans help to relay to the viewer the confusion that is downtown Raleigh.

RBC Center Changeover

This is probably one of my favorite packages. On days when the NC State men's basketball team have an afternoon game and the Carolina Hurricanes have a night game, the 'changeover team' has their hands full. This package is full of nat pops and shows the 'organized chaos' that goes on in-between games.

Kay Yow Tribute

Kay Yow was a coaching legend...regardless of gender. Her courage while battling cancer was a true inspiration to all of those who knew her. Our assignment was to cover a gathering arraigned in her honor. We had been using the same video of her for days...so my suggestion was to employ still images. I believe this technique allowed the viewer a more intimate view of Kay Yow, more than recycled file video ever could have.

Newspaper Job Cuts

The assignment was to do a one minute and thirty-second package about layoffs at a local newspaper. After the obvious shooting of today's edition of the paper, what do you use for video? I believe the final product told the story in a visually more interesting fashion...complete with the chroma key behind the professor's head.

Eve Carson Memorial

So often in news were are sent out to cover extremely sad events. It is how you handle yourself and how the final product looks that represents not only yourself, but also the station in general. One such story was that of a memorial service for Eve Carson. Thousands poured onto "The Pit" on the campus of The University of North Carolina. While you need to get all of the elements to cover the story, you must also be respectful of those who lost a cherished friend. This package was the result.

Vietnam Memorial

This story demonstrates the creativity and ability to tell a story without the asssistance of a reporter. I am able to gather the whole story by myself, while the overall quality of the entire piece does not suffer.

Sports Anchor

I recently had the opportunity to try my luck at anchoring a sportscast. This segment was entirely written, edited and delivered by me. I am willing to do whatever is needed so that the organization functions smoothly...even if that means doing something that I haven't done since college.
